Nesco PC6-25P Features
As aforementioned, at the core of this pressure cooker is a range of different features. These features are designed to provide a comprehensive cooking experience, so we’ve taken a closer look at some of the most prominent of those features on offer.
6 Quart Capacity – When it comes to looking at the features of a pressure cooker, a good place to start is always by taking a look at the capacity of the pressure cooker. This capacity is measured in quarts, which is basically a measurement of how much food you can cook in the cooker. This particular unit comes in at a 6 quart capacity – which as you may already be aware is at the lower end of the quart scale.
Whether or not this small capacity is much of an issue depends on exactly what and who you’ll be using this pressure cooker for. If you’re looking to just prepare a meal for a couple of people each evening, this pressure cooker should provide adequate capacity. That being said, a family of four or more people will need to look at a pressure cooker that provides more capacity, as this Nesco PC6-25P option just doesn’t.
Automatically Locking Lid – An interesting feature that we were pleased to see included with the Nesco PC6-25P is an automatically locking lid. This means that even if you forget to lock the lid on your pressure cooker, it’ll do it for you. Whilst some may not see this to be a hugely necessary feature, it can definitely come in handy. When you close the lid on your pressure cooker and start cooking, it will automatically lock.
This automatic locking functionality is especially useful when you’re using the pressure cooker around children. The last thing you want is for a small child being able to easily access the red hot contents of the pressure cooker. In terms of safety features applied by many pressure cookers, an automatically locking lid really makes sense and it’s especially nice to see that Nesco have decided to include it here.
LED Display and Button Controls – When it comes to cooking food in your pressure cooker, you’re going to want as much control over your food as possible. In order to achieve this, it’s important for a pressure cooker to provide adequate information and control. With it’s nice little LED display and button controls, we can comfortably say that this pressure cooker definitely provides just that.
That being said, the LED display used on this pressure cooker doesn’t offer anything overly complicated. It allows you to simply just check on the progress of your meal and adjust the temperate of the unit. At the same time, the range of different buttons on the front of the pressure cooker allow you to choose between a ranges of different cooking functions. Whether that’s choosing between one of the pressure cooker’s many pre-programmed recipes or customizing the cooking settings to your own liking.
Cool Touch Lid and Handles – We’ve already mentioned one of the key safety functions included with this pressure cooker and that’s the unit’s automatically locking lid. However, the pressure cooker also builds on this safety functionality with both cool touch lid and handles. As you’re likely already aware, a pressure cooker can get incredibly warm whilst it’s cooking your food and is therefore dangerous to touch. However, this particular pressure cooker uses both a cool touch lid and handles. This means that the lid and handles never get warm and you can safely touch them without getting burnt.
We’ve seen so many people struggle with injuries as a result of using their pressure cooker, so it’s definitely nice to see the extent that Nesco have gone to here. Cool touch lid and handles mean that you can safely use this pressure cooker in a family environment without the risk of burning yourself or anyone else.
